January 22, 2016

New Smyrna Beach, FL – On February 19th, 2016, Florida Surf Film Festival be screening a few films with doors opening at 6PM and movies starting at 7PM with Freezing – a new short documentary (mockumentary) by Rob Lockyear and Jeremy Joyce, Gold – Sterling Spencer’s humorous parody of surf celebrity and its ego-at-large (I laughed out loud). Next up at 9PM, we’ll premiere in the US The More Things Change – Gerry Lopez’s Uluwatu Talk Story – a new film by Nathan Myers about Gerry’s discovery and early years spent at the now exposed left hander. We may be tossing in a couple of short films, to be determined, before this film.

This is our first installment of films for the 2016 festival year, and all films are entered for competition for the 2016 festival, which will be held on November 18th and 19th.  Florida Surf Film Festival will also be screening to-be-determined entries on June 17th (Friday of Father’s Day Weekend) and Saturday, August 20, 2016.
