Gathering is a short film from independent filmmaker Nathan Oldfield, commissioned by Tracks Magazine. Oldfield is the creator of the award winning left of centre surf films ‘Lines From a Poem’, ‘Seaworthy’ and ‘The Heart & The Sea.’

The film features the enigmatic and free-thinking Dave Rastovich at home in the sacred playgrounds of the Far North Coast of New South Wales. ‘Gathering’ is a candid look into the community that Rasta is a part of, as well as a document of his happy adventures on a range of surfcraft. Ultimately, ‘Gathering’ celebrates how diversity in ecosystems, relationships and surfing communities contributes to the preciousness of life.

‘Gathering’ features Dave Rastovich, Lauren L. Hill, Chris Del Moro, Creed McTaggart and others. ‘Gathering’ is on sale with the August issue of Tracks Magazine – available from the 23rd of June 2014.

The Florida Surf Film Festival’s mission is to invigorate Florida surf culture through film appreciation and artistic expression, exhibiting contemporary films.
